Dear Classmates:

Welcome to the profile pages. We hope you all will contribute something about what you have been doing since we all left the hallowed halls of Pearl River High School. Be it, something about your family, jobs, hobbies, or travels, we would love to hear about them. Even a little humor, would be welcomed. To those of you that are unable to attend the reunion, we also want to encourage you to share your profile, as your classmates would still like to know what you have been up to since high school.

Although we know that some of you are bursting at the seams to update us, please attempt to keep the profiles from one to three, short paragraphs in length (Approx. 250 words). This would be in keeping with what others have already posted. Also, please keep in mind that we hope to print up booklets using the profiles.

For those of you that are uncomfortable writing your own profile, we have a committee member that is very willing to assist you. Lacking with computer skills? We can help you here too! Once again, need help in adding pictures, we can be of assistance (we have yearbooks available to us).

To add your profile, just click on the Add Your Profile button below. When the next screen comes up, you only have to provide information to the boxes that have astericks next to them (can provide more, if you feel comfortable doing so). For those of you that are able to add pictures, do so. If you are unable to do so, we can help you out at another time. Then, proceed to the text box and write your profile. When finished, click on the Submit button.

Thanks, and we look forward to reading all about you!

Retired Married 2

Has it really been 50 years?!  After graduation, I attended RCC where I received my associate's degree.  From there I spent many years working at Lederle Labs and Orange & Rockland until I married my husband, Jimmy, 37 years ago.  We have two beautiful children, James and Priscilla, who we also raised here in Pearl River.  I went back to our old stomping grounds and worked in the Pearl River School District as a special education teaching assistant for 17 years. I have since retired and have three grandchildren who fill my heart with love and joy.

Journalist (Retired) Married 2

After PRHS, I attended RCC and later transferred to Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pa., where I received a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communications.
I had hoped to travel after graduation, but landed my first reporting job within two weeks at The (Nyack) Journal-News. I did, however, finally get to travel and over the next 42 years I worked as a reporter, editor and page designer at multiple newspapers in New York, Florida, Arizona and Connecticut.
I married my wife - a reporter turned lawyer named Janet - in New Haven, Conn. We have two great sons - Colin, 30, and Kyle 28. We live in Guilford, Conn., and I am now retired.

Retired Married 2

Like four PRHS classmates (Ernie Bauer, Roland Faltinksy, Larry Livingston and Lance Malkind), I graduated SUNY Stony Brook with a BA in Economics in 1971.  Married Carol Van Buren (from Oneonta, NY) right after graduation.  We’ll be married 46 years in early July.
Headed to Pittsburgh to continue studying economics at the University of Pittsburgh.  Left Pitt in 1975 without the PhD to be an assistant professor of economics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  Finished the PhD in 1977. Unfortunately, my mother had died of cancer shortly before this and before my two sons were ‘born on a mountain top in Tennessee.’  Joshua (40) is an assistant professor of bio-physics at Clemson University.  He has our two fabulous grandchildren, Zachary (10) and Zoë (8).  Timothy (38) works in the high-tech world in San Francisco.
August 1979 we happily returned to the northeast when I started a position as an assistant professor of economics at Northeastern University, Boston.  We found a lovely town, Needham, west of Boston to raise our sons and still live there.  I very much enjoyed my career teaching undergrads and graduate students and retired after the fall 2016 term.  It was a career that included travel to most of the countries of western Europe and Australia.
In thinking of my 42 years as an educator, I can’t but thank the wonderful teachers I had in Pearl River from kindergarten through high school. These in cluded Mr. Corsica (5th); Ms. Magoon (6th); Mrs.Susi; Mr. Kuklis; Mrs. Wiggenhorn; Ms. Lalacona; Mr. Yorks; Mr. Engle; Mr. Lanks;....
In addition, I feel the need to mention Ms. Partridge, the middle school math teacher, who I taught for on Senior Day and who ignited my interest in teaching that lasted for a career.

Retired Married 2

Hi All:
It's been a long time!  Here's the cheap version:  After PRHS Donna Minard and I married and put each other through college.  We also have two terrific children, Mike and Christine.  Donna and I are no longer married, but we communicate and have remained friends.
I earned an MBA in Finance & Technology @ Iona and spent most of my working years at Paramount Pictures, first in NYC, and later in Hollywood. No, I wasn't an actor, just "the finance guy".  I retired a few years ago, and now split my time between Las Vegas and New Orleans.  Occasionally I play casino poker, but I'm not good enough to be on TV.  I also took up the guitar.   It's an old friend that keeps me out of trouble. Sometimes it even writes a song for me.
I've been married more times than I care to admit, but this time it stuck. Jeannine is a retired Special Ed teacher, and my daughter Christine says Jeannine is just what I needed - where's the Ritalin?
Unfortunately, I will not be attending the reunion.  Mom passed away last summer and I spent two months in Pearl River dealing with, well, you know.  While there I visited all of the landmarks, and had a terrific time. I won't spoil your visit, but rest assured the Nanuet Hotel still has "the best" pizza,  King Cone is still standing, and Mel's Army Navy awaits you.   Pearl River remains the town that defies time.
Best of luck everyone, and enjoy the reunion.
                                                                                  Andy

Married 3

After PRHS I attended SUNY-Oswego, where I met my wife, Cheryl. We received our MLS degrees from SUNY-Albany in 1974. Relocating to Rochester, NY, I taught for the Rochester City Schools as a school librarian, retiring in 2004. We have three grandchildren, Morgan (2), Kairi (7), and Ethan (14 going on 24).
I play a lot of golf now during our short season here in western NY. In June '16 I carded my first hole-in-one. For 43 years I've belonged to the Barbershop Harmony Society, traveling the country singing in barbershop competitions. I've written five songbooks of tunes arranged for 4-part harmony.
Cheryl and I like to cruise, and on a 2010 transatlantic cruise we were midway across when an Icelandic volcano erupted, spewing ash clouds over Europe, and closing most airports. In Southampton, and unable to fly out of Heathrow, we took the train to York where we were stranded for a week.
From 1997 to 2000 we produced a series of musical melodramas locally. We collaborated on the scripts, and I wrote the music/songs and directed the plays. We also produced a short melo for our local heritage museum, the Genesee Country Museum, at their Opera House in 2001.
I'm still a baseball fan, and over the years I've attended a game in every major league ballpark, and a dozen more no longer in use by MLB. For many years I coached my sons' soccer teams in the local rec. league. We've always had a working vegetable garden.

After graduating from business school, I worked for Dexter Press in West Nyack where I met my husband, Buzz.  We have two children, Jeff (45 - living in Charleston, WV) and Colleen (43 - living in Charlottesville, VA with her husband, John, and their two children, Sydney 14 and Jac 12).  We lived in Stony Point for 35 years where I was a stay-at-home Mom until I went to work for The County of Rockland, Department of Mental Health.  I retired from The County in 2002, and shortly after that we moved to Virginia. Buzz and I have owned our own travel agency for just over ten years and have kept very busy.  Sorry we won’t be able to attend the reunion, we’re scheduled to be away.  Have a great celebration and hopefully we’ll see you all next time.
