Wow, 50 years ago we did not know where we would be now.  So much has passed to get here. College, Marriage, Children, more College, Career, Travel, Grandchildren and finally doing what you always wanted to do.  I went through all of that to pick up a paint brush and start painting again.  I hope everyone takes that leap and cherishes every minute of their personal adventure in life.

AIRFORCE  Where to begin? After HS, I went to RCC for a year before joining the US Air Force. I served 2 tours in Southeast Asia as a crew chief on a C-130 aircraft and discharged after 4 years. I went back to college under the GI bill and received a BS in Chemistry. Funny, because I failed chemistry in HS. I really never worked much in a lab environment but most of my career I spent in the field working for chemical manufacturing companies. I was recruited after school to Wisconsin and later transferred to CA where I have pretty much remained since '83.

I had moved to the Vancouver area of Washington state for 6 years where I retired and started my own business. This is also when I met Alexis. The NW eventually wore on me with the weather and decided it was time to move back to CA. We did that in early 2014 and have enjoyed it since. We spend a fair amount of time traveling as most know if they follow any FB postings.

My only daughter, along with my 3 grandkids and 1 great granddaughter all reside very close by.

Retired Widowed

After PRHS, I attended Rockland Community College & earned the Associate in Arts degree in English and psychology. While working at Rockland County Mental Health Center (1970-1973), I went to Empire State College (SUNY) in Manhattan at night and finally earned my Bachelor of Science in 1982 after completing my coursework at SUNY New Paltz. In November 1973, after an 18-week whirlwind romance, I married Richard Celeiro, and in 1977, we moved to Saugerties, New York (exit 20 on the NYS Thruway). The economy in Ulster County is different than Rockland, so you have to be creative to make a living up here, but IMHO, the trade-off is well worth it. I had a variety of jobs over the years, including working for Ulster County in various civil service positions & offices. On the business & commercial side, I worked in retail sales, advertising/marketing, college program administration, business/restaurant management, writer/editor for radio/newspapers/magazines, and graphic arts & freelance work. Unfortunately, while employed as a welfare examiner for UCDSS in 1984, a freak work accident caused permanent spinal injuries that put me out on Social Security Disability after 9 years on Workers Compensation. In February 1997, Richie died suddenly from a pulmonary embolism. My animals are my family and give me a reason for living. Now, between my 2 dogs & 5 house bunnies, and all the birds and wild critters that I take care of, my life is happy if not exciting. Due to many medical issues, I am home 90% of the time. I bought my house in 1984 and as I always say, for me "it's from here to the hereafter." LOL

Wishing everyone a great 50th celebration. Where did a half century go? I love having company, so if you are ever in my neck of the woods, let me know....Exit 20 on the NYS Thruway.....Donna
